I made this piece from 100% recycled materials: mainly, scrapped satellite dishes from the landfill.
With skills and ideas, even abandoned, archaic, material can be given a new life. It's a talent many artists share, across genres and disciplines, my favorites being Arte Povera and American Folk Art. I enjoy using materials that already have a story--for all the unforeseeable quirks that give the piece character.
